بيان لجنة التضامن مع عمال المحلة: رياح المحلة تهب – يوم 6 أبريل

بعد انصراف الوردية الأولى فى مصنع غزل المحلة وبمجرد خروج العمال الى الشارع تجمع حوالى سبعة الاف عامل من عمال وأهالى المحلة فى ميدان الشون وذلك للتعبير عن غضبهم لما تعرضوا له من قمع امنى وضغوط من شتى الاجهزة الحكومية لمنعهم لممارسة حقهم المشروع فى الاضراب للمطالبة بحد ادنى للاجور يكفى حياة كريمة (1200جنيه) والمطالبة ببقية حقوقهم .

وقد تصدى النظام الحاكم وأجهزته القمعية للعمال واهالى المحلة وبشكل وحشى مستخدما القنابل المسيلة للدموع والرصاص وكل وسائل القمع مما نتج عنه عدد من الشهداء والعديد من الجرحى، كما أصطنع الحرائق وتدمير المنشأت ووسائل المواصلات مدعيا ان من قام بها هم اهالى وعمال المحلة وهو ما نفاه عمال واهالى المحلة عن انفسهم .

لذلك تناشد (لجنة التضامن مع عمال غزل المحلة) كل شعب مصر بكل فئاته وخصوصا العمال لمناصرة اخوانهم فى المحلة بشتى الوسائل لان مطالب عمال المحلة تخص جميع العمال والفقراء والمهدر حقوقهم فى شتى ربوع مصر .

وتدين لجنة التضامن مع عمال غزل المحلة العنف الحكومى الوحشى ضد عمال واهالى المحلة لانه دليل واضح على تمسكهم بتكثيف الاستغلال لهم ولكل عمال مصر لصالح رجال الحكم والمال .

The Wind of Mehalla Blows

After the morning work-shift in Al-Mehalla Textile Mill ended today afternoon, and as soon as workers left the factory, 7000 Mehalla workers and inhabitants gathered in El-Shawn Square to express their anger at security and governmental oppression to prevent them from carrying out their legal right to strike in demand of a fair minimum wage (1200 Egyptian pounds).

The ruling regime and its oppressive apparatus attacked the people of Mehalla viciously using tear gas and real bullets and all forms of oppressive techniques. The result was an unidentified number of martyrs and injured. The regime also burnt and looted several shops and public institutions in the aim of framing the Mehalla populace as looters and bandits! And of course nobody believed, or would believe, this dirty trick.

Hence the “Committee for Solidarity with Mehalla Workers” calls upon the people of Egypt, in all their classes and strata, to express their solidarity with their brothers in Mehalla, and let’s not forget that the demands of Mehalla workers is the demands of all the working people in Egypt.

The “Committee” also condemns strongly the savage brutality of the security forces against the people of Mehalla, a brutality that proves that the regime is persisting in its extensive exploitation of the workers of Egypt on behalf of a bunch of business and political tycoons.
